EMILY DICKENSON'S WHITE DRESS

The Revered American Poet Emily Dickinson (1830~1886) is known to have often dressed in white in the later years of her all-too-brief life. Why?

She appears never to have explained, leaving scholars and admirers intrugued...

The dress you see here is a replica of the only surviving dress worn by Emily Dickinson.

It is the creation of Kate Wilksa, the great-niece of Shaker Mill Books owner Eric Wilksa.
